Technology you hear – but do not see

You recognise a good home cinema by the fact that you do not notice the installation: no visible cables running to the projector, speakers flush in the ceiling, a connection exactly where you need one. The Lyndahl range is designed for precisely that invisible side.

The three building blocks of a clean system

1. Video feed

The path from the source to the projector or television ideally runs through the wall or ceiling. With HDMI built-in boxes, Keystone modules and flat adapter cables, the line ends in a clean panel instead of a hole in the wall.

2. Sound in the room

Ceiling and in-wall speakers disappear into the ceiling and free up the room. For damp rooms there are versions to IP44, for visible mounting there are variants with an aluminium frame.

3. Connection panels for surround

In multi-channel systems, speaker panels gather all the lines at one point – tidy, labellable and traceable at any time when a device is changed later on.

How long may the HDMI cable to the projector be?

That depends on the resolution. At Full HD, even longer runs are usually uncritical. At 4K it becomes borderline from around 10 metres – an active transmission system is then the more reliable solution than a very long passive cable. Better to ask us beforehand; the run can be assessed in advance.

I have no picture even though everything is plugged in. What is going on?

In most cases it is the chain of source, splitter and display device – not the cable. Common causes are a device in the chain that does not pass the copy protection through, or a splitter that limits the resolution. Describe your device chain to us and we will narrow it down with you.

Can I use ceiling speakers in a bathroom too?

Yes, there are versions with IP44 protection against splash water for that.

Can the amplifier be run in a motorhome?

Our Bluetooth amplifiers work on 12 V. However, a vehicle or boat on-board network does not deliver a clean, stable voltage – starting and charging produce spikes that the devices are not designed to withstand. Connecting directly to the on-board network can damage the device. Talk to us beforehand if you are planning a mobile installation; we will tell you what is required.
